Back in September, we learned that the original Jurassic Park stars Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, and Sam Neill, would be making their appearance in the upcoming Jurassic World 3 movie. Turns out, Jake Johnson and Omar Sy from Jurassic World (2015) will also be showing up in Jurassic World 3, making the movie a veritable reunion party across the franchise. If you recall, Jake Johnson played the role of Lowery Cruthers, a sarcastic control room operator, and Omar Sy took on the role of Barry Sembene, a velociraptor trainer. The last we saw of them, both Lowery and Barry made it off the Jurassic Park island alive.
Johnson has commented before that he was disappointed Lowery didn't make a return in Fallen Kingdom and that he also wanted to further explore Lowery's budding chemistry with Lauren Lapkus's character, Vivian. Johnson also gave a few thoughts on how Lowery might change after the events of Jurassic World, stating, "We were talking about Lowery is a different guy because of what he went through in the first movie. Like he's got a huge ponytail now. I pitched that he's got sleeve tattoos. The trauma of seeing a dinosaur attack really messed him up. I thought we could have some fun."
In any case, we'll have to wait until June 11, 2021 to see if any of those ideas come to fruition in Jurassic World 3. Director Colin Trevorrow, though very transparent about the casting, remains tight-lipped about the plot.
